May 15, Tel Aviv

We had a wonderful Shabbat with a family that has been very special to David. They have 4 lively children who kept us busy throughout the day.

We bought Uncle Alex a pair of crocs to match his bag. It is actually Aunt Shirley's bag, but she has made it heavy enough that she has Alex carry it around for her.

Tom enjoyed walking miles and miles up and down the Tel Aviv beach. I don't think he sat down all day (except for lunch).

We ate lunch in the old city of Jaffa at a place called Dr. Shashuka and then walked around and look in the Arab Shuk.

Creative wiring in an old city.

Street shops.

Merchandise displayed in such a lovely manner!

Shuk stuff.

David, Aunt Shirley and Uncle Alex having fun shopping. David was great at helping us figure out how much stuff cost.

Old synagogue apartments.

After leaving the old city of Jaffa, we headed back to the original heart of Tel Aviv. I helped Uncle Alex find the spot there were his family had a restaurant in 1933 Palestine. They owned the shop for 4 years and then sold it to the employees so that they could move to the United States.

This is the street Uncle Alex's family restaurant was on . Here he showing Aunt Shirley where things used to be.

In downtown Tel Aviv...this guy thinks he is Jesus.
